About Odessa

Odessa, who is nicknamed "Dessie," was one of our cutest alpaca crias and, in my opinion is our prettiest alpaca. She is also quite humble and easy going. She is always happy and hasn't a worry in the world. She loves people. When we have visitors, Dessie waits patiently, keeping an eye on their every move. Then, she moseys on over to the visitors and rubs up against them so they'll pet her. After she has been petted for awhile, she will cush down at their feet, hoping to relax and enjoy more attention. She loves kids and is a favorite with them. Kids are delighted when Dessie cushes down to their level.

Odessa has always been calm and sweet. She never minded when the kids dressed her up.

By all rights, Odessa should have been a champion. Both her mother and father are superior quality alpacas from champion bloodlines. She just did not get the DNA. While her fleece is really soft and made a lovely yarn, it simply is not show quality. But we don't care. We all love her and at Pax River Alpacas she'll stay.
