Cairo's Alpaca Yarn from Maryland's Pax River Alpacas

About Cairo

Cairo was born October 3, 2004. Cairo is a suri alpaca. From birth, Cairo had the shiniest fleece you ever did see. When Cairo was young, Jeannie Wells, Wellspring Suri Alpacas boarded her alpacas on our farm. She had an adorable suri girl named Summer. Now Cairo was infatuated with Summer. In fact, the two were inseparable - until Jeannie decided to move to Texas. Cairo's heart was broken. He moped around for about 6 months, but finally he got over it, although I'm sure he still dreams about Summer from time to time.

Over the next few years, Cairo cleaned house. He was awarded 1 Reserve Championship and 8 Blue Ribbons. He also won awards for best locks, best luster and best lock formation.  Cairo's fleece is to die for. It is gorgeous - and super shiny. It makes a very exquisite, silky yarn.

Our son, Ben also showed Cairo in children's events. Ben and Cairo were quite the team and the two won many ribbons together Cairo loved obstacle courses, and was especially good at them when he could run throughthe course

So now Cairo is retired from the show ring and lives with several other boys in the pasture. He has grown up to be quite the macho alpaca stud. Cairo still glitters in the sunlight.
